As a natural laboratory for testing virtually every piece of equipment in the U.S. Army’s ground combat arsenal, every day is Earth Day at Yuma Proving Ground (YPG).
After planting saplings the past two years to celebrate Earth Day, this year YPG Environmental Sciences Division personnel got a hand from school children at YPG’s James D. Price Elementary School in attempting to germinate seeds for a variety of native trees and plants: Palo Verde, Ironwood, Honey Mesquite, and Desert Willow, among others.
