A car crash in Navarre, Florida, on Nov. 3, 2024, resulted in a mother and her young son becoming trapped in a submerged vehicle, but thanks to the quick actions of multiple community members, including Airmen from the 1st and 492nd Special Operations Wings, they were rescued and survived. The efforts of the rescuers, who worked together to free the trapped passengers and administer life-saving measures, were recognized during a ceremony on Nov. 25, 2024.
