STUTTGART, Germany -- The commander of U.S. Africa Command and U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Michael Langley alongside the Ambassador of the United States to Gabon, Ambassador Vernelle FitzPatrick, began discussions on strategic efforts to further stability and prosperity in the region by observing how a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics program in Gabon – ACTE Academy – is growing its youth to be leaders and innovative thinkers to one day combat challenges that yield instability during a visit on Nov. 4 in Libreville, Gabon.
“The youth here are using their talents, curiosity, and intellectual curiosity to explore new horizons,” Langley stated. “What they discover here will benefit populations across Gabon for many years to come.”
