Naval Weapons Station Yorktown's Sailors, along with area service members from installations on the Virginia Peninsula participated in the annual Yorktown Day Event in historic Yorktown, Virginia. The event commemorates the end of the Siege of Yorktown, when British forces surrendered to a combined force of American and French troops on October 19, 1781.
