17th Sustainment Brigade highlights Spc. Andrea Villanueva for Hispanic Heritage Month

As Hispanic Heritage Month comes to a close, the 17th Sustainment Brigade highlights Spc. Andrea Villanueva, a human resource specialist whose service reflects her commitment to family and pride in her cultural roots. Villanueva, who joined the Nevada Army National Guard in 2019 and has served with the brigade since 2020, manages personnel records, pay, and benefits while also helping her parents navigate the U.S. naturalization process through the military’s expedited program with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Staying connected to her heritage through traditions like Día de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday honoring deceased loved ones on November 1 and 2, Villanueva balances cultural pride with service. Currently deployed with the 17th SB, her team is tasked with managing logistics across the U.S. Central Command area over the next year.
