In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, federal, state, and local agencies are working together to coordinate recovery efforts across Southwestern Virginia. Led by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), FEMA, and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM), teams are assessing damage, debris removal needs, and critical infrastructure recovery. Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin personally visited the Regional Coordination Center to thank the recovery teams, emphasizing the importance of restoring hope and ensuring long-term support for affected communities. The collaboration continues to gain traction as response efforts expand across the region.
