The Medical Readiness Command, Pacific’s “Best Medic Competition,” held at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, tested Army medics' physical endurance, medical expertise, and mental toughness in grueling challenges from September 16-18, 2024. Participants faced obstacles like combat water survival and K9 Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) simulations. Specialist Anthony Vance described the competition as “the hardest thing I’ve done,” while his teammate, Staff Sergeant Geoffrey Anderson, noted, “We crushed it today.” The competition aims to prepare medics for the rigors of combat, emphasizing teamwork, resilience, and readiness.
